Mechanic/Truck Driver

United Cooperatives in Plattsburg, MO has an exciting opportunity in our Agronomy & Feed Division. We are looking for a Mechanic/Truck Driver to join our growing team. You must be self-motivated, hardworking, have good time management skills, able to make decisions and work independently.



Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will:

 

  • Operate company vehicles and other heavy machinery to load and unload bulk fertilizer, feed, seed and chemical products for suppliers and customers.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment (trucks, conveyors, etc)
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

 

Basic Qualifications: (required)

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to work at various heights above ground as required
  • Ability to work long hours to meet business demands
  • Ability to work in dust and different weather conditions and temperatures
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, twist

 

Preferred Qualifications: (desired)

 

  • A Class A CDL is preferred, but the company will train the right person and qualify the individual      to obtain the proper license and endorsements.
  • Skid loader and forklift experience
  • Equipment repair and maintenance experience
  • Bulk fertilizer handling experience
  • Feed handling experience

 

This position is a full-time position. 
You will work approximately 40 plus hours per week with great potential for overtime during spring and summer months.
